BE DIFFERENT

That time is finally here - and it is about time.

We are excited to finally launch The Nigeria Prize for Difference and Diversity
– to find, recognise and support individuals, communities, and organizations
creating safe spaces for individuals, free from discrimination and
marginalization with The Nigeria Prize for Difference and Diversity.

The Prize is geared to support the opening up of the voices,
hearts, and spirits of young people across Nigeria, urging them to embrace
their true identities and accept their uniqueness without fear of
being suppressed, oppressed, even misunderstood.

ABOUT THE PRIZE

Fifteen Outstanding Individuals Will Be Selected.

From 30 June 2020, the team will receive public nominations across the six regions of Nigeria till the 4th, September 2020.  A central working committee within the organization will select the best nominee profiles to be sent to the judges. Judges will then select ten outstanding individuals from a pool of nominations to attend a virtual one-week fellowship in October 2020.

The 15 finalists will be announced in October and will be selected for the one week workshop where they will be coached and mentored by a faculty of the brightest minds across media, rights and governance.

This will be followed by an awards presentation in December to commemorate World Human Rights Day, where the overall winner will receive N1 million endowed by journalist and entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo for this first edition. Jideonwo has been at the forefront of diversity and difference storytelling and activism across Africa.

Nominees must be between the ages of 18-35 as at the period of nomination
